During the first few weeks of the pandemic this year, a priority for the business became the retention of its existing members. This is how Connect began to grow in the member’s iOS app. The Connect team was fully remote and would connect digitally for stand-ups, workshops, and demos.

Leading the UI I worked closely with the team to deliver multiple features over six months. This was inclusive of video calling, noticeboard, instant messaging, and member matching. These features were designed to create meaningful digital connections between members and leverage what is unique about Soho House.

 
 
 

With the release of each feature, we would test with a small group of members and staff. This enabled us to continually improve the community experience in the app. We wanted to create something that the members would engage with so each new feature was lead by their needs.

With our member matching, we have allowed members to access people outside of their network, facilitate communication between them, and improve their chances of meeting like-minded people.
